i think there’s a lot of pressure in the art community to kind of strive for your art to be detailed+realistic and all these other expectations based on some kind of ridiculous standard of what “good art” is, but like idk simple plain stuff can be amazing too, non-realistic stuff can be amazing too dont let anyone set your art standards but yourself tbh ignore everyone

Bronies; The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony

moirasars:

Everyone. Every single one of you. Watch this thing. Seriously. It will clear those horrible stereotypes about male audience, who enjoy watching My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic.

I am not a brony (I don’t belong into any fandom what so ever), I do like the show a lot (I’m a Discord fan) and I enjoy watching it and see the dept of the messages every episode has.

I do not see anything bad about men watching MLP as I don’t see anything bad about girls watching cartoons that are more for guys; like TMNT or Biker Mice from Mars. Heck, I LOVE those shows with my heart, always have and always will. Also I love to watch cartoons, even though I’m 24 years old. Why does age and sexuality matter do damn much? For me, cartoons are just cartoons, just like anime and manga are just cartoons and comics for me. If it’s fun to watch, I’ll watch it.

The thing that makes me a little frustrated is that people say that grow men have destroyed MLP from girl. That they have destroyed it with port art. Well, FYI most of the artists I’ve seen drawing porn about MLP characters are girls. Yes. Female artists. Why don’t people suddenly start saying “Oh, girls have destroyed Sherlock Holmes/Supernatural with their homosexual/incest romance junk”? I don’t care about those things. People do what they want. This is the internet, yes people should tag their porn more, but still. People should mind their own business and maybe not advertise their unusual interests so much.

There are so many things that I would like to write about people taking things too seriously or how there are flaws about bronies (just like furries etc) but nah. Just watch that document.

SOBBING.

SO MUCH SOBBING.

IT WON’T END.

For anyone who didn’t see it, let me tell you.

The Doctor’s a time traveler. He brought Vincent Van Gogh (who was severely depressed and lost hope in his ability and himself) to the future, to a museum where they are celebrating his art.

I don’t know if any of you are artists (drawing, writing, whatever), but being a writer, this scene moved me to tears. You’re your own worst critic, and feel like your stuff is complete shit sometimes…maybe even to the level of despair like Van Gogh. But imagine someone brought you to a world where people love and appreciate your art. Or it means something so special to them. The thought of it is overwhelming.

I’m probably just rambling, lol, but this is one of the most perfect episodes in the series.

you’re not. i was blubbering like a little baby.

This scene!

ALL MY CREYS!

My mom has no idea what this show is and she has no interest in it but I had this on the tv and she watched this scene and started crying her eyes out.

This is probably my favorite moment in DW ever. It’s just so meaningful that the Doctor was able to bring this poor man, who was considered a joke in his time, to the future to see just how appreciated his art would become.

i ALWAYS cry when i watch this scene
its quite possibly the most beautifully sad yet happy scene ever to have been on television. and so perfectly acted

and sorry, i just have to put this in here

“Well. Um, big question, um, but to me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular great painter of all time. The most beloved. His command of colour, the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world. No one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence, was not only the world’s greatest artist but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.”
