When I first came out as Asexual, I kept it quite a secret from most of my friends and family as it wasn’t a well known sexuality. When I did eventually open up about it to some people many of them told me that I wasn’t Asexual and that I was just saying that because I “hadn’t found the right person”. I was quite irritated by that idea, to me it was like telling a gay man he was just saying he was gay because he hadn’t found the right woman. 

Like Homosexuality, Asexuality is not a choice, we are born that way, there is nothing you can do or say that will change what we are.
