It’s because we are giving the consent to the strangers to see it when they want to see it in a gallery without having to see their reactions. But when a parent or person asks for it in person, you are expected to get a reaction from them once you give it to them. Not to mention that parents are super judgy on what you draw and suddenly ask you to paint a sky and mountains
